hellooooo lovahhh…
not much to say here except that thisunique specimen was just recently harvested by my dear friend and brilliant songwriterrichard leigh- direct from his garden about an hour south of town.
i live in nashville, tn.
and i’m here totell ya, it’s a long damn way from nyc.
what brought me here was the music business (ok, and a man) but what has keptme here (besides another man) is the level of true brilliance that surrounds me. this town is mecca for songwriters and a fair few of the best aretheclosest friends i could have ever wished for.
among the many heart stopping songs that richardhas written, you might most be familiar with “don’t it makemy brown eye’s blue”. but truly, for all the times it’s been recorded, no one on earth will ever sing itas beautifully ashe does…
and that’s a fact.

Frisky tomato or it has an appendicitis on the outside? Pretty darn cool, too bad it’s going to be eaten. Even cooler that you’re a musician! I’m all for following one’s heart. Few can say that they’ve gone after what they want and live the way they want to.

I knew I liked you! I honest-to-God just looked up “I Don’t Love You Much, Do I?” by your friend Richard Leigh because I keep hearing it in ads – I think for bread. I just thought it was a beautiful song; I also love “Cold Day in July.” Tell him he has a fan in the Midwest. Oh, and he picks a great tomato. Could be glad to see you; could be birthing an alien….

Hey, Claudia! Yeah, Nashville is all about music.
It’s about food, too, apparently. I want to introduce you to Lannae at http://lannaelong.blogspot.com/, and if you visit, you’ll meet a few more Nashville food bloggers.

licking my lips, awaiting tuesday’s culinary delights!
i have been secretly praying for salted caramel ice cream. that’s all. just a really big bowl. with a full place setting. i may eat it with a butter knife.
on further review of that tomato, it’s a coin toss between “happy to see you” and “tail wagging”.
the bread commercial is for “nature’s own” bread, it’s aired on “food” network and “hgtv”, richard wrote that one with guy clark. and i hope you buy lots! thanks for your appreciation of the good humor ‘mater!….

Ah, Nashville. The last time I was there I feel like I was dragged to this place where they prided themselves on flipping (and catching behind their backs) little cornbreads. I want to say everything was fried. But it was a very fun town! And my business seems to be more and more enamored with that scene every day.

Claudia,
What a great blog and that you are here in Nashvegas is even more fab! Thanks for the tip on Lazarroli’s. Bought fresh pasta there earlier in the week and buying today to take on weekend trip to the mountains.
Only Richard Leigh could come up with a mater like this one. Please tell him Mary from Clayton Blackmon says hello. He’s a great guy…and he has played “Brown Eyes Blue” on my piano. You’re right. He’s the best one to sing it.
Keep on blogging. You’re a hoot!
